Week 2 With The Elf On Our Shelf

This was a fun week for the kids. Sally Snowflake brought little gifts for the kids that were being good
(I love the dollar store) and it inspired the others to be good too!

Night #8 Sally jumped into Romans Stocking

Night #9 Sally wanted to read How The Grinch Stole Christmas to some friends.........
Darth Vader even made it!

Night #10 was the first night of little gifts and mommy got the first one! A new reuseable Starbucks cup To replace a broken one!

Night #11 was Friday and Sally knew how much we love to watch family movies!

Night #12 I think Sally wanted to get a better look at our cooking.

Night #13 She was loving my Christmas decorations and yes that is a sign from Romans Harry Potter party last year. I made it so I will put it where I want dang it! ;)

Night #14 Sally wanted to show off her new skirt and do a bit of acrobatics. Roman was a little bummed he could not play with his Legos that day.

Elf On Our Shelf week 1

I am going to blog about our elf week by week as not to have it be too overwhelming everyday.

So the first night Sally was at out house her first task was to get out of her box. Since I could not touch her
(elf rule #1!)
So I was told to cut the tape and leave the scissors!! They wanted no chance of  loss of magic.

Sally was atop the sound bar. Dad thought she looked evil holding the scissors but the kids were really happy she was out and about.

Night #2 set it's self up. Paris was so excited to have Sally she wrote her a little not and left her some candy. Elves love sugar you know! She was thrilled Sally liked it!

Night #3

I guess the Nerds were not enough since Sally got into Mommies candy cane kisses!!

Night #4

Sally must have needed a better view so she found the perfect place to see most of the house.

Night #5

It must have been a long trip for Sally since she still seemed hungry.

Night #6

It was joke time haha! The kids love silly little jokes and they loved this one. I think I heard it at least 6 times during the day

What kind of bird can write?
A Pen-guin!

Night #7

I think Sally was not a huge fan of the weather in Arizona because she was found in a rather cold place.

Yes that is where we normally keep the eggs haha!

The Naughty List!

So earlier this week my youngest Roman got a special letter from the big man himself!
He was so thrilled when he saw it was from the north pole. I of course knew what Sally Snowflake
(our EOTS) was reporting to Santa and knew it was not good.

Roman has been a real pill the past few weeks. He is the main reason Santa sent an Elf to us mid Nov.
He has been telling us no a lot and just not listening. He has always been stubborn but it has been outta control as of late.

I am hopping this is a bit of a wake up call for him and he is going to think
about his actions a bit more. I love his face in this picture when he realizes what the letter was really about!

The Elf Has Landed

FAIR WARNING THIS WILL BE A PIC HEAVY POST!

Our kids have been a bit out of control lately and I think Santa could see I was at a breaking point.
So he sent me some back up!

She is a bit creepy but a big help for sure.
After dinner last Monday someone or something rang our doorbell a bunch. When we
looked out side no one was there. Daddy and the kids opened the door.
(sorry about the video i was trying to video tape stealth mode)

They were so excited to get a present in November it was great! I love my oldest sons
reaction when he realizes who it is from.

After just a few min of talking about it Roman came up with the name Sally and them Paris wanted to
add Snowflake. We all agreed that was a great name and a new tradition was born!

I'M BAAAAAACK!

Not gonna give a ton of excuses as to why I have not blogged in 12 years. Ok, maybe not 12 years but a really long time. Life has been busy and as I plan on blogging about it all in future posts I will just press on.

So our normal Santa is watching you tradition involves smoke detectors. Weird I know but it was born out of sleep depravity and frustration. My oldest (5 at the time) was driving me up a wall and NOT listening to me. After he stuck his tongue out at me for the 4th time I took A deep breath, looked up and got an idea!

"See that?!" I pointed to the smoke detector. "That is a camera Santa and his elves watch you with to see how good you are being!"

Bam!! Instant attitude adjustment! It was awesome. As it has gone on I have caught the other kiddos talking to the detectors to either ask for something, say they are sorry for something or, yes, to rat out the others.

In recent years though it has had a bit less of an effect. They still believe, yes even the 10 year old, but they seem to be a bit more rambunctious and forget about the cameras. So i am going to try something new. (to us anyway)

The Elf On The Shelf!!

I have a plan for the introduction and when it is here I will let you know how it all went and if it is working. :)
